Simply provide the url of the site you want to crawl in the textbox labeled as “Provide The Url Of The Site To Spider:” and click the “Get Urls” button.

All page urls of the specified site will be retrieved automatically with the first META keyword in the correct format (www.pageUrl.com&&keyword) . If there is no META keyword on any of your pages, the following result will be retrieved: www.pageUrl.com&&???  And you have to replace the ??? with the keyword of your choice.

You can stop the web spider at any time by clicking the “Stop” button.

If you are happy with the Url-Keyword pairs that have been retrieved, you can click the “Add To List” button in order to add the newly retrieved Url-Keyword pairs to the main Url-Keyword pair (textbox on the left side of the window).

Exclusion List:

You can setup as many alerts as you want. For each alert you need to select all those keywords that should be monitored by the alert and you need to provide various settings that indicate if an alert should be sent if the ranking positions on Google and/or Yahoo fall below or rise above a specific position target.

The main window of the Google rank checker (with the columns Project, Keyword…) provides a list of all keywords from all ranking projects together with the name of the ranking project and the previously retrieved Google and Yahoo ranking.

You can order the list in ascending or descending order by clicking on any of the column headers: Order by selected checkboxes, project name, keyword, Google ranking or Yahoo ranking.

After creating a new alert with the keyword rank checker, you need to select one or more keywords (or, even all keywords if you want), specify alert settings on the right (Watch Google, Watch Yahoo… ) and click the “Save” button to save your keyword selection and all alert settings for the currently selected alert.

The settings on the right side of the Google rank checker allow you to watch Google and /or Yahoo rankings and to set specific position targets. For example, if you tick the “Watch Google” checkbox, select the radio button “>” (Google Ranking Position is Bigger Than) and  select the value 10, you will get an alert whenever the Google ranking position of one or more of your selected keywords rises above position 10.

This kind of alert may be used as a reminder to build more backlinks in order to get back into the top 10.

Or, if you select the value 10 and you select the radio button “<=” (Ranking Position is Smaller or Equal Than” you will get an alert whenever the ranking position of one or more of your selected keywords gets into the top 10 (first page on Google).

Such an alert may be used to inform you that you can cut back (or even stop ) building backlinks for certain keyword(s) and that you can focus on other keywords that are not yet ranking so well.

Also, there is no need to do a manual alert verification by clicking the “Send Alerts” button. If you use the “Automatic Scheduling” feature of the keyword rank checker tool, you will receive those alert emails automatically.

Today I want to show you 5 simple ways to get free website traffic. All of those strategies are really easy to use and they don’t require much time – maybe 10 – 20 minutes per strategy.

Now, in order to generate massive amounts of traffic with those strategies, it is necessary that you use all of those techniques on a consistent basis.

You could do the following: Every Monday morning you spend 10-15 minutes implementing strategy #1. On Tuesday you spend 10-15 minutes on strategy #2… And the following week you start all over with strategy #1 and so on.

This takes only 10-15 minutes per day, but over time it will not only generate lots of free traffic for you, but also tons of great backlinks that will improve your rankings on Google, Yahoo and other search engines and generate additional organic search traffic for you.

So, once again: The secret to success is consistency. Stick to your plan and keep on working those simple traffic strategies. A blog carnival is a collection of links to other people’s blog posts on a specific subject.

Simply go to: http://blogcarnival.com/bc/clist.html and search for blog carnivals in your niche. For example, if your blog is about “natural acne remedies”, search for blog carnivals on “acne”.

Then you simply submit a link to your blog articles. Some carnivals may also require a short description.

So, each time you write a new blog post, you wait a few days until the post is indexed in Google and then you submit the link to your blog article to all blog carnivals in your niche. Once you researched your list of blog carnivals, this shouldn’t take more than 5 minutes of your time.

Free Website Traffic Strategy #2: HowTo Sites

People love HowTo articles and sites like wikiHow.com get hundred thousands of visitors every day. You can easily benefit from those massive amounts of traffic by submitting your blog posts (that explain how to do something) to sites like:

• www.instructables.com

Take your HowTo articles, add a short resource box at the end of it (with a link back to your site) and submit them to the sites listed above. You can also combine several of your articles to create a more complete tutorial if you want.

Again, don’t submit a blog post until it has been indexed by Google.

Free Website Traffic Strategy #3: Audio Podcasts

This strategy takes only a few minutes to implement, but it is highly effective. Studies have shown that nearly 20% of all Internet users listen to podcasts on a regular basis. So, this is a huge traffic source and you should not neglect it.

Go to www.odiogo.com and provide the RSS feed of your blog. Odiogo converts all of your blog articles into audio files (mp3) and sends you an email with the download link for the mp3′s – this takes only a few minutes.

Now you can submit those mp3 files to various podcast directories like:

Take your already indexed blog posts, convert each of them into a simple presentation of 2-3 slides using Microsoft Powerpoint, OpenOffice or a similar tool and submit those slide show presentations to the biggest presentation sharing sites.

Just take the main points of your article, create some bullet points, briefly explain key strategies, add a link back to your site… delete the rest of the content and convert the document into a slide show presentation – this shouldn’t take more than 5 minutes for a 300-500 word article.

Free Website Traffic Strategy #5: Document Sharing Sites

This is another great way to generate free traffic while spending only a few minutes of your time. The top 5 document sharing sites get over 5 million visitors every day – so, there is a huge potential for great traffic.

Whenever you add a new blog article, wait  a few days until the article gets indexed by Google then convert the article into a pdf document and upload it to some of the major document sharing sites.

To convert your article into a .pdf document, you can use a site like: www.doc2pdf.net and there are lots of other sites and tools that allow you to convert text documents into .pdf for free.

Don’t forget to put a link back to your website at the end of the article. You could also do the following: Take an article of at least 500+ words, convert only the first 200-300 words into a pdf document and add something like: “Click here to keep on reading…” at the end of the article to incite your readers to visit your website. Of course, the link needs to lead to a webpage that provides the second half of the article.

Once you are used to the various techniques listed above, it should not take you more than 5-15 minutes per article and strategy to generate some free website traffic. Please don’t misunderstand me, this is not a product review where I will tell you how amazing this product is that you absolutely need to buy it, blah, blah, blah…

The goal of this article is to condense the most important findings, lessons and ideas from the Google Ranking Cookbook into one or two short articles. I would like to give you some practical and helpful tips, which you can use immediately for your own SEO and marketing.

Ok, so much for the introduction, now let’s get started with our Google Ranking Cookbook lessons learned.

Probably the biggest A-Ha for me was the relatively simple approach to get pages ranked on Google – even for competitive keywords. In my SEO approach, I usually build backlinks from all kinds of different sources and I also use a ton of different strategies and approaches: Articles, press releases, video marketing, link wheels, link pyramids, social bookmarks, media links, editorial links…

After reading the Google Ranking Cookbook I came to the conclusion that I maybe over-complicated my life a little bit.

In a (tiny) nutshell, the Google Ranking Cookbook SEO approach looks like the following:

• Start out with cheap and relatively low quality backlinks

• Keep on adding more of those links over the following days and weeks

• Add some higher quality links

• Once you move up to #10-25 on Google, build a low number of high quality links in order to provide a final ranking push and to anchor the position.

To make this a bit clearer, let’s have a look at a concrete example:

Site age: 6 month

• Day1 (D1): Rank > 100 – build 1000 forum profile links (drip rate 50/day)
• D2: Rank>100 – submit 500 articles (drip rate 50/day)
• D4: Rank>100 – build 100 dofollow comments
• D11: Rank>100 – build 100 dofollow comments
• D22: Rank: 23 – build 100 PR1+ comments
• D38: Rank: 27 – build 100 PR1+ comments
• D56: Rank: 21 – build 8 PR3 home page links
• D75: Rank: 7

Total link building cost: $65

In the Google Ranking Cookbook there a total of 22 different case studies and also a few Google Sandbox case studies (how to get a site out of the sandbox). The basic approach is more or less the same for all (or most) case studies, but the number of links built in a certain time frame and the mix of low and high quality links depends on factors like site age and number of already existing backlinks.

The total link building cost for the various case studies was between $25 and $90 – depending on competitivity of the keyword to rank, site age, existing link profile.

Take away lesson:

Don’t over-complicate things. Stick to basic forum profile links and low quality comment links to get going. Add in some slightly higher quality PR1+ comment links. Once you are on the second page on Google, throw in some high quality PR3+ home page links for the final push.

Second big A-Ha:

Testing and tracking. I’m very lazy when it comes to testing. Usually, I build all sorts of backlinks and 2-3 weeks later I check the ranking. Unfortunately this doesn’t allow me to verify what kind of links work and which ones are a waste of time and money.

Build only one type of link, check your ranking position over a week or so and make notes what works and what doesn’t.

Other tips:

• Keep your link profile as natural as possible: Build some nofollow links and use also anchor texts that have nothing to do with your main keyword – like: “click here”, “more info”…

• Go slow on brand new sites – don’t build too many links at once. Drip feed your links at a relatively low daily rate.

• Especially for low quality links, it is really important to use an indexation service or software tool to help Google find your backlinks. Otherwise, not even 10% of these links will be found by Google. On Fiverr.com you can get up to 20000 links indexed for $5.

• Don’t build thousands of links in one go and then stop for 2-3 months. Keep a regular and steady link velocity. That’s why it’s really important to use some sort of indexation service that indexes only ~50 backlinks a day and not 10000 backlinks at once.

In the Google Ranking Cookbook you can also find a list of all the link building and indexation services they used for their case studies. Some of those services seem quite interesting to me, others seem a bit expensive for what they provide (for example forum profile backlinks and low quality comment links) and I think you can get better deals on Fiverr.com.

I probably will provide a second part for this article, where I will take a closer look at the services they used and I also will provide with some tips from the Google Ranking Cookbook that should allow you to prevent your site from getting sandboxed and/or to get your site out of the sandbox much quicker.

I don’t agree. In my opinion, forum backlinks are still a valuable asset and I think, they should be part of any link building campaign.
 
 
 

Why should you still make use of forum links and forum profile backlinks?

• They help to diversify your backlink portfolio – Google likes sites that get backlinks from all kinds of sources.

• They are quick to build – takes only a minimum amount of your time.

• Those forum backlinks are really easy to build. No need to write articles, no need to beg other people to give you a one-way backlink… And those forum links can easily be automated.

• Forum profile backlinks are really cheap – you can get 5000-10000 of those forum links for about $5.

• Also, in many cases, a few hundred forum profile backlinks are often sufficient to get a Google top 3 ranking for very low competition keywords.

Now, of course, those forum backlinks are not some sort of magic weapon that will allow you to rank all your keywords quickly and easily. But, as I already mentioned, for very low competition keywords they are perfect.

Also, not all forum profile backlinks are the same. Certain forum backlinks may be absolutely useless and others may be very valuable assets that allow you to improve your rankings.

Here are some tips to get the most out of your forum profile backlinks:

• Forget about building forum backlinks on PR0 and no PageRank forums – that’s a waste of time.

• Wait 5-7 days before adding a signature and an About Me text with a backlink after forum signup – otherwise your profile may get deleted within a few days.

• Always use your keyword in the anchor text. Also, don’t create hundreds or thousands of forum profile backlinks with the exact same anchor text keyword. Use some synonyms and LSI keywords.

• Ideally you should spin your signature and your About Me text. Having the exact same text on each and every forum may raise some red flags with the search engines.

• Also, I don’t recommend you use any free email account, like Hotmail, Yahoo… for the forum signup – many forum moderators tend to delete those accounts.

• In your signature and your About Me text, don’t just provide your forum profile backlink. Write a short text snippet of at least 60 characters. Those links will be more valuable in the eyes of the search engines.

Now, how do you get your forum profile backlinks?

• You can create them manually. Unfortunately, that’s boring and also a bit time consuming. On the other hand, 20-30 high quality forum backlinks may be enough to get you a top ranking for very low competition keywords.

• There are various software tools you can use to automate the creation of forum backlinks. However, not all of those tools will allow you to create forum profile backlinks that satisfy all the points I mentioned earlier on. XRumer is a very powerful tool to create forum backliks – unfortunately it is also very expensive.

• You can outsource the creation of forum profile backlinks. The cheapest solutions can be found on Fiverr.com. You can get packages with 5000-10000 backlinks with an unlimited amount of urls and keywords for $5. However, most of those cheaper packets won’t provide you with forum profile backlinks that fulfill all the high quality standards I listed above and many of those backlinks tend to get deleted rather quickly.

• And finally, you can hire someone on odesk.com or elance.com to create the exact type of forum profile backlinks you want.

Also, Auto Blog Samurai is not some sort of no-effort required money making wizard. Some of the reviews out there mention that you can make up to $100/day with one single Auto Blog Samurai blog. Honestly, I never even got close to that figure. I think my very best Auto Blog Samurai blog earned me ~$5/day. On top of that, this was a blog where I put in some extra time to build backlinks from various different sources.

So, to make this work, a minimum amount of effort will be required and ideally you should also build a few basic backlinks to your blogs (Auto Blog Samurai won’t handle that for you) to optimize your earnings potential.
 

All in all, I think those shortcomings are really minor compared to all the amazing features and functionalities provided by Auto Blog Samurai.
